Parents, I want each of you to be comfortable in our classroom and feel free to participate in any way that you see fit. We are a team, remember that, we (myself, you, and your child) need to communicate consistently and honestly in order for our classroom to run effectively. I will be having an open house for our classroom on Wednesday night (15 Aug) and also on Friday night (17 Aug). I urge you to come in, check out the room, ask questions, and get to me better. I look forward to meeting each of you as well as your children. So come on down, there will be refreshments - cookies, juice, etc. - I look for to it!!
Tips to help your children become better learners.

Discuss what makes a healthy lifestyle - eating right, exercising5. Talk to your child about what they did at school6. Talk to your child about what they think they need to improve upon and what they are struggling with.7. Stress the importance of doing your best and getting assignments done on time.8. Be positive
Volunteer Opportunities
There will plenty of opportunities for you to get involved in the classroom and you getting involved will only help you child learn and grow this year and in the future. 1. I need party planners. We will be having a Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentines Day, and party towards the end of the year. I will ask for you to volunteer to help and participate in any way possible. Decorations, food, drinks, games, etc. will all need to planned. 2. Homecoming. I will need volunteers to help throughout the day. We will need some creative ideas for what will be our "2nd straight" parade winning float!! Homecoming is always fun!! 3. For the fathers and also mothers I was thinking about having a Super Bowl party the week of the Super Bowl. I plan on integrating a math, reading/writing, science lesson the week of the big game. This will be my first year doing it so I am open for any ideas. Let me know!! 4. I will also be planning a field trip to the Air National Guard, I do not have a specific date, but last year we did it the second week of October. The kids had fun with it last year, seeing all of the jets and interacting with all of the ANG members. Come join us please!! 5. I am always looking for parents to come in and read to the class or help out with lessons.
